Jill & Boggles

We are Jill and Brian (but he has been called Boggles since he was 6 weeks old!) and have been married for over 35 years. We are a responsible, mature, fully Covid vaccinated couple who would love to house/pet sit for you.
We joined Trusted Housesitters (THS) in 2017 with a 3-week petsit in Wales for 2 pigs, 2 horses, 3 cats, 2 guinea pigs and some tropical fish - in at the deep end! We enjoyed every minute and have completed over 60 petsits through THS since, with 5 star reviews for all our sits. We have experience of looking after dogs, cats, chickens, pigs, horses, sheep, goats, ducks, donkeys, fish, rabbits, rheas(!), Alpacas and guinea pigs.

As a couple we are practical and have a lot of life experience. Boggles is great at fixing things in the house and cars and Jill has gardening skills and likes to keep things clean and tidy, so hopefully we can look after your home and tackle any issues that may crop up whilst we are sitting.
We very much enjoy meeting new people and have developed some good friendships through our petsits. We enjoy walking, kayaking, classic cars, dancing and Boggles will travel a long way for a good chocolate pudding!
We have our own house and three grown up sons, one of whom is living in NZ, and two grandchildren. Jill worked in special and mainstream education for 20 years in a pastoral role and more recently for a private university. Boggles worked in senior management in the charity sector for over 30 years, having the privilege of being CEO in three roles, with the most recent being a charity for children with disabilities in Devon, UK. In unusual contrast to that, we also started & led a successful church in Guildford, UK for 16 years with many students and young couples/families where Boggles was "a kind of vicar". We handed this over to a younger team and took a sabbatical to travel around Australia and NZ to see family and enjoy the stunning scenery.
Whilst there we did a pet sit for 2 huge Leonberger's, a golden retriever and two cows! On our return, Boggles' new job took us to the south west of England and we had a very enjoyable time pet sitting our way around Devon with 7 different sits including cats, dogs and rabbits.

We have recently entered semi-retirement and are currently resting, reflecting and re-inventing ourselves! We have been using our newfound freedom to petsit full time in the UK and in New Zealand & Australia earlier this year.
